Camp Overview
Camp Manitou is a premier residential boys camp in the beautiful Belgrade Lakes region of Maine. Manitou prides itself on a state of the art camping facility with an unmatched variety of programs. Camp Manitou employs a large, experienced staff of over 180 adults to care for its 300 campers. While most of our counselors and crew are returnees, new additions are always warmly welcomed. We seek adults who enjoy working closely with children and can also teach at a high level in one or more of 40 instructional areas. Except in special cases, counselors should be 19 or older by the opening day of camp. The average age of Manitou counselors is 22. Male counselors live in cabins with campers.
